Skoda Key - Simply Clever Features to Make Your Life Easier
Skoda's greatest strength is the satisfaction of its drivers. This is a clear and quantifiable value that we can share with the market.
Proximity Lock and Unlock: Our keys sense your presence, unlocking when you approach and locking when you walk away. Apple integrated for tracking cars. Elegant and durable, with unique, easy-to-hold shell design.
Keyless Entry
The days of turning a key into a lock are slowly disappearing, and most new cars have keyless entry. You can unlock your car by pressing the button on the fob, or by grasping the door handle. This lets you keep your hands free and not need to dig around in your bag to find your keys.
The system works by the car sending out a radio signal that is picked up by the key fob which in turn sends a reply signal to the car. The car will then detect this and either unlock the doors, or turn on the interior lighting (if it is programmed to do that).
Certain keyless entry systems don't even require fobs. Instead, they use an app on your phone to send a signal directly to the car. This is also known as a phone-as key, or a digital-key. It's an excellent method to let other drivers access your vehicle without needing to give them the keys.
There have been incidents of car thefts that used keyless entry systems. Secure-A Key is a security device that can be attached to your key fob. This device will disable the remote's battery when it isn't moved for a couple of minutes. It makes it much more difficult to take a car.
Start and Exit System
When you return to your vehicle with a wet coat from the field or an soaked shopping bag, Skoda's Simply Clever features will help. This includes a clever boot mat that doubles as a second side in the Karoq made of fabric on one side and plastic on the other, which protects the floor from getting dirty or wet.
The modern keyless entry system, referred to as the KESSY control unit - has an extra layer of security to safeguard your vehicle. The system makes sure whether the correct key was used to start the engine and, if it wasn't then the immobilizer will be activated. This blocks different actions to stop the car from starting, including disabling the fuel pump, ignition coil, or injectors.
You'll see an alert light on your dashboard if the immobilizer has been activated. This is a serious issue and you should consult a specialist for a diagnosis.
The latest keyless entry system is secured by a variety of sensors, including a door handle sensor. It is located inside the two front doors and waits for a trigger like the insertion of a key or a button press on the tailgate. If the trigger is detected, a response is sent to the car's control unit, and it opens the doors and begins the engine. The Kodiaq, Superb, Octavia and Enyaq have the same system, called Area View that uses cameras to display multiple perspectives of your car's immediate surroundings on the in-car monitor.
Remote Control Window Winding
If your skoda's window winding is not functioning properly the issue could be caused by a bad motor or switch. If you're unsure about the switch, try using an instrument to test for continuity between the ground and power wires that connect to the motor in the window. You should ideally get the power and ground wires connected when you press the switch. If not, it's likely that the switch is malfunctioning.
If you are not able to fix the issue, it's best to seek assistance from an auto electrician. They will be able to repair the window winding in your skoda Octavia, and ensure that everything is working correctly. You can also reach out to an auto dealer in your area about the problem.

Electric windows are akin to manual windows, except that they feature an electric motor instead of a handle which moves them upwards and downwards. The motor is connected through two circuits to the window switches: one switch position and the circuit drive it in one direction (window up), and the other switch position, and the circuit, drive it in the opposite direction (window down). The switch contacts are wired to the power supply that is then connected to a motor in order to do the actual winding. The motor rotates a gear that engages gear teeth on a large plate when the window is raised. When the window is lower, the gear disengages and the handle can be move freely.
Multi-function Steering Wheel
To keep both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road, a variety of functions have been moved from the dashboard or console to the steering wheel. The steering wheel is fitted with radio controls, cruise control and other functions. This innovative solution improves the safety of the vehicle for both the driver as well as the passengers.
The new two-spoke steering wheel made its debut in the fourth generation of the OCTAVIA and is currently fitted to almost all SKODA models. It's ergonomic, modern and allows for various variations including a 3-spoke version.
"We wanted to keep the centre of the steering wheel as tidy as we could, both to make the logo stand out and avoid a feeling of clutter," says designer Marwan Khiat. The steering wheel features 14 buttons for controlling the functions of the vehicle, all of which are clearly labeled. The buttons operate with one click. This makes it simple to use, without having to remove your hands from the steering wheel.
The steering wheel can be equipped with controls for air conditioning and heating functions for winter. In addition, it is compatible with the CAN bus system to allow integration of multimedia functions such as radio, Bluetooth and a USB connection.
Ambient Lighting
With the press of the button, you can turn down all the windows at one time. It's easy to get in the car and cool off quickly on a hot summer day. The same feature can be used to synchronise your sunroof so that it shuts automatically when you lock your car.
You can customize your interior with ambient lighting by changing the colour illumination of the dashboard or side door panels. Depending on your mood you can pick from a palette of 10 colors and intensities to create the ideal atmosphere.
LED lighting is more efficient and emits less heat than incandescent bulbs. This helps reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of your vehicle.
In an emergency, your car can send the location of your vehicle to an emergency center with other important information. This information helps rescue services locate your vehicle and respond as quickly as possible. This is just one of the many functions offered by eCall that you can activate or renew using the MySkoda application.
Umbrella Storage
Have you ever been sucked in by the weather without an umbrella? That's unlikely to happen again if you have a Skoda Superb Combi. There's a compartment in each of the front doors (except for the driver's side) that is perfectly sized to hold an umbrella. You'll keep your umbrella dry when you get out at a stop.
It's a minor detail that makes a huge difference. The umbrella will be waiting when you open the door. When you're driving, it'll remain out of the way and not get in the way. This is just one of the many clever features that demonstrate how much thought has gone into Skoda.
skoda key programming include a tablet holder for the rear outboard passenger seats and the drink holder at each of the front doors, so you can keep your drinks close to the ready. You can even fill up your washer's fluid with help of funnels.
There's also the clever solution that allows you cool down your car after a long trip by automatically lowering all windows when you press the unlock button on the key fob. It's a unique feature that can help reduce stress when driving.
